Michael Davis

Chief Executive Officer
Michael Davis brings to ProVita 26 years of critical care and 15 years of clinical and operational leadership experience with large acute and post-acute hospital systems in the US including Kindred, Triumph, RehabCare and Tenet Healthcare. Prior to joining ProVita, Michael served as a Market CEO for Kindred Healthcare in Houston, TX and served as Chief Clinical Officer for the Hospital Division of Triumph Healthcare/ RehabCare with clinical operational oversight of 36 long-term acute care and inpatient rehabilitation hospitals across the United States. Michael received his education from McNeese University in Lake Charles, LA, USA.

Dr. Jamil Itani

Medical Director
Dr. Jamil finished his medical school in 1999 at Saint Petersburg State Pediatric Medical Academy. After Graduation he joined the Pediatric Department at Berbir Hospital in Beirut, as a pediatrician – hospitalist. In 2001 he joined the Pediatric Residency Program at MGH/AUBmc – Beirut. Dr. Jamil graduated in 2004 and worked as a pediatrician in a private practice. He also participated in general CME activities and has been an active member of Tawam Life Support Training Center as PALS and NRP instructor. Dr. Jamil joined ProVita in February 2012.

Stanley Rodrigues

Director of Human Resources

Stanley Rodrigues brings in more than 21 years of experience in Human Resource Management with 16 years spent in the United Arab Emirates.

He initially completed his graduation in Commerce and further enhanced his career with a MBA in Human Resource Management. Stanley’s extensive knowledge of the UAE Labor Law and HR best practices has helped him manage the entire spectrum of HR Services in various industries including healthcare.

Wendy Thomson

Director of Facilities Management & Special Projects

Wendy Thomson started her Middle Eastern working career in Saudi Arabia in April of 2000, she then moved to the UAE in 2003, joining Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, Abu Dhabi, where she managed 37 Critical Care Beds.

During her tenure at SKMC she commissioned and managed several new projects:

Adult Cardiac Surgery Program – 2005

Pediatric Cardiac Surgery Program – 2006

Pediatric High Dependency Unit – 2009

Renal Transplant Program – 2010

Wendy is currently enrolled in a MBA through Chifley Business school Australia. She strives to positively influence the lives of people she meets every day, even in the simplest ways, following a motto of Bob Marley: “The greatness of a person is not in how much wealth he acquires, but in his integrity and his ability to affect those around him positively.”

Tim Gardner

Director of Operations, Al Ain

Mr. Gardner has been working most recently for the last 3 years as a Hospital Administrator in Bahrain, responsible for the day to day general administration and overall management of the Hospital. His role included a particular emphasis on accreditation processes, policy development, strategic planning, continuous quality improvement, risk management and patient safety.

Prior to this, he worked for eleven years as Director of Nursing in Bahrain and for four years at a 150 bedded General Hospital in Saudi Arabia also as the Director of Nursing.

He is a very experienced Clinical Administrator specialising previously in emergency room, ICU and trauma. He has 30 years of extensive experience working in the United Kingdom, Iraq, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain in a variety of Government, non for profit and private healthcare organisations managing a variety of staff with a multinational background. He has experience in project management, including the implementation of electronic medical records and patient management systems. He has a particular interest in the field of Medical Ethics and the Medical legal aspects of Hospital management.

Waleed Tawfik

Director of Revenue Cycle Management

Waleed is an accomplished healthcare professional who brings in more than 10 years of experience in the healthcare and health insurance industry of UAE and Middle East. His major focus is revenue management, data integrity and analytics, risk management and strategic planning. Prior to joining ProVita, Waleed worked in leading healthcare and health insurance organizations namely Al Noor Group of Hospitals, VPS Healthcare Group and National Health Insurance Company – Daman.

Waleed is an active member in Health Authority of Abu Dhabi – HAAD, “Data Standards Panel” and “Clinical Coding Steering Committee” looking to create information and incentive systems to sustainably improve healthcare in the context of mandatory health insurance.

Waleed holds a Master of Business Administration with honor from New York Institute of Technology and is currently pursuing a certification as Chartered Insurance Professional.

His current assignment includes the overall management of all functions related to revenue operations and reporting of medical services to healthcare payers rendered by ProVita International Medical Centre (Abu Dhabi & Al Ain), assist in formation of a revenue cycle team to maintain long-term strategy in line with organization goals in addition to enhancing the efficiency of denials management and the overall health of the group receivables.

Darshak Shah

Director of Finance.

Darshak Shah joined ProVita’s Team on 1st April 2015 and has been instrumental in successfully heading and contributing to several key projects like Oracle Fusion implementation, Vendor Due Diligence and Purchase Price Allocation exercise.

Darshak brings to ProVita vast experience in healthcare finance having worked in some of the big Acute Care hospitals managed by SEHA in his previous employment. Darshak has more than 16+ years of experience in Finance of which 12+ years in healthcare.

Darshak is a firm believer of strong internal controls and processes. Darshak is a qualified Chartered Accountant from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), a Certified Management Accountant from IMA US and has passed US CPA exam as well.

Christina Shawky Boehme

Founder

ProVita was established in early 2010 after identifying an unmet need for specialist long-term care in the United Arab Emirates by its founder Christina Shawky-Boehme which started 2008. Shawky-Boehme established a similar business in Germany in 1995 and was the first to bring her international care model to Abu Dhabi. Continuing the total dedication to patient-centric care and quality of life, Shawky-Boehme developed ProVita into a world-class provider in the UAE.

Alta De Villiers

Director Of Education and Training , Abu-Dhabi and Al Ain

Alta De Villiers has extensive Nursing experience of over 27 years at different levels, of which around 18 years have been in the Middle East. Her last assignment was with Mediclinic Welcare Hospital where she worked for 3 years, her major contribution at Mediclinic was in Education and Staff Development.

Prior to this she worked as the Head Nurse, for over 10 years at the American Hospital, Dubai, where she managed the Neonatal ICU and Pediatric division. Alta holds a Diploma in General Nursing Science, 1986 and a Diploma in Midwifery, 1990 from South Africa.
