

Biography
Sumana Hegde is an accomplished physiotherapist with over 15 years of experience in the field. She joined NMC Healthcare in May 2015 and played a pivotal role in establishing the physiotherapy department at NMC Royal Hospital. Prior to joining NMC, she served as a senior physiotherapist at KMC Hospital in Mangalore, India.
Sumana graduated with a bachelor's degree in physiotherapy from Manipal University in 2008. To complement her clinical expertise, she pursued an advanced Diploma in Business Administration and a post-graduate Diploma in Healthcare Management from Welingkar Institute of Management in Mumbai.
Throughout her career, Sumana has excelled in rehabilitating patients with various conditions, including obstetric rehab, neurology, and orthopedics, particularly joint replacement and arthroscopy cases, employing evidence-based practices. Her special interests lie in treating women's health, back and neck disorders, muscle and tendon injuries, as well as pre and postsurgical conditions.
In addition to her work at NMC, Sumana established a physiotherapy center in the Infosys campus in Mangalore, providing her services to the employees of the multinational company. Furthermore, she contributed to the employees' well-being by offering voluntary ergonomic sessions.
