Celebrating the International Nurses Day 2015
Abu Dhabi, 19 May 2015: In appreciation of the essential role of nurses in the lives of our residents, ProVita International Medical Centers celebrated International Nurses Day 2015 during the month of May at the Abu Dhabi and Al Ain facilities. The theme that was chosen by the International Council of Nurses for this year’s event was: Nurses: A Force for Change: Care Effective, Cost Effective. The theme reinforces the fact that global health cannot be achieved without nurses’ participation at all levels of the healthcare system. ProVita was founded by a nurse, Christina Shawky-Boehm, and founded on the basic principles of nursing set forth by Florence Nightingale many years ago, so it’s fitting that we celebrate our nursing staff and their contributions this month.
All staff participated in the celebration to honor the wonderful work and dedication of ProVita nurses. Our recognition events included activities such as team building games, a show to celebrate the different cultures of our nursing staff, relaxing massage stations for staff, along with a buffet dinner at each facility. Michael Davis, ProVita CEO stated, “the fundamentals of nursing care is the backbone of the work we do at ProVita. The care administered by our nursing staff is complimented by the world class service our therapy staff, physicians, and all clinical support services provide every day. We credit this multi-disciplinary, holistic approach for the great outcomes we achieve in improving the quality of our patients’ lives. I’ve never been prouder of the nursing staff, or clinical staff as a whole, as I am this year and it’s an honor to celebrate with them.”
ProVita feels that the celebration was a small token to show our appreciation for our great nursing staff and it’s been a great chance to say thank you to our nursing team from for their efforts in providing our residents with the quality of care they deserve.
